Terms & Conditions

 

These Terms and Conditions apply to the provision of NTA - National Training Authority (NTA) home-studt courses as advertised on our website - www.nta.ie and in media publications.

1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms: 'We' and or 'Us' means NTA who will provide you with the courses your ordered. 'You' means the customer receiving the courses. 'Enrol' means the process of enrolling, booking or ordering a course and the term Enrolment shall be construed accordingly. If you enrol via the website this will involve you completing the relevant application or Order form on the website, giving us your personal information and submitting the details to us.
You can also order by telephone giving us your payment details and agreeing to proceed with purchase.

2. Provision of Courses
Once you have enrolled you will receive confirmation of your order and the course will be delivered to you as per this confirmation. This confirmation is automatic for online bookings and usually within a few days for all others. You can expect to receive course material within a few working days. NTA reserves the right to deliver course materials in any format. Overseas students (those residing outside Ireland or UK) will be charged an extra €35 per course.

3. Course Fee
In addition to courses fees there is a registration charge of €65 payable for every course enrolled including special offers.

4. Your Rights to Cancel the Course
Once you have ordered and you decide that you wish to cancel, you may do so provided that: you notify us in writing of your request within 7 days of the order date and you also return all the materials sent to you in their original condition and pay costs of returning these to NTA. If you so cancel your order in accordance with these terms above we will credit your account (if you paid by Credit Card less any credit card handling fees that may have been incurred) or send you a cheque within 28 days of receiving your written notice of cancellation if you paid by any other means. Each course for which you ordered including special offers carries a €65 charge for registration which is non refundable.

5. Transferring to Another Course
Provided payment has been made in full you are allowed transfer to another topic of your choice, provided such request is made in writing within 30 days of ordering. The original material must be returned in its original condition at your expense. There is an additional charge of €65 to cover registration in addition to any difference that would have to be paid if the new programme is more expensive than the first one. You are not allowed to transfer to another person.

6. Quality of Courses
We will provide courses in accordance to each course description as detailed on our website. All representations, warranties and /or commitments not expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions (whether implied by law, conduct, statute or otherwise) are hereby excluded to the maximum extent permissible at law.

7. Payment for Courses
All Credit Card purchases are subject to a non refundable credit card handling fee of €10.00. Such payments are normally debited to your account on day of enrolment or within 24 hours.
We reserve the right to change the amount charged for a course fee and any such changes will be displayed on our website.

8. Complaints
In the event you are not satisfied with any aspect of a course please contact us in writing stating in what respects you are not satisfied and where you feel the content of a course did not match the published contents as displayed on our website and in our Prospectus.

9. Our Obligations to You
The exclusions and limitations of liability contained in these Terms and Conditions do not apply to: Any loss or damage resulting from death or personal injury caused by our negligence; Loss or damage arising from fraudulent misrepresentation; or Any other losses which may not be excluded or limited by law. In the event of a Postal Dispute or other such events which are beyond our reasonable control we shall make every reasonable efforts to get your course to you as soon as is practical.
In no event shall we be responsible to you for any loss of profits, loss of earnings, loss of anticipated savings, loss of revenue or loss of goodwill that you may suffer. Further, in no event shall we be liable to you for indirect or consequential losses that you might suffer. Our maximum aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount of the course fee paid.

10. Your obligations to Us
In accordance with Copyright Law you are not permitted to reproduce or modify any part of a course, store it in a retrieval system or transmit it in any form by any means - electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise without the prior written permission of NTA.

11. Protection for Learners
As a course provider we have an enlightened policy for the protection of learners. It means that if , for whatever reason, we cease to provide the programme or course you enrolled for, we have specific and legally binding arrangements in place, with two other independent course providers (National College of Communications Ltd see www.ocdl.ie and Irish Training & Educational Centre - see www.irishtraining.ie who have both separately and independently formally agreed to finish out or complete your course/programme for you at no extra cost.

12. General
These terms and governed by and shall be construed in accordance with Irish Law. Any dispute arising between us under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non - exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us in relation to the provision by us to you of a course and they replace and supersede any prior arrangements between us in relation to the course.
You acknowledge that you are not relying on any statement made by us or any of our representatives with regard to the course other than those expressly set out in these Terms.

Privacy Policy

NTA will not collect any personal information on this website without your explicit consent. We will let you know when we are doing so that you can decide whether to provide information. Any information which is provided by you will be treated with accordance with the terms of the Data Protection Act, 1988, Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the Free Movement of Such Data. If at any time after giving us personal information you decide that you no longer wish us to hold or use this information, or in the case that the information becomes out of date, you are free to notify us, and we will remove or rectify the information within a reasonable time.

Statistical and analytical information collected through the standard operation of our internet servers and logs provides us with general and not individually specific information. NTA will use this information for general statistical purposes and will make no attempt to identify individual users, or to associate any technical information collected through the standard operation of our internet servers and logs with any individual user.

Security Information

To ensure the highest level of security of information passing between our customers and our servers, NTA uses what is known as SSL. This is an encryption method that scrambles information while it is moving from one source to another to prevent the information being viewed or tampered with.

We also utilise PGP Software to encrypt information from our Online Enrolment form. PGP supports a variety of encryption algorithms, but only those with a 128-bit or greater symmetrical crypto key length. PGP products do not interoperate with products using low-security and easily compromised encryption systems. To ensure the integrity of its products, PGP publishes source code for peer review.
